You know i very rarely get involved in these discussions on here mainly because they are a very moot point and nothing ever gets solved when things are discussed like this. Here are some of my observations. When this new board took over we were asked to do a few things differently: More transparency into the board meeting which we have provided, a better system for checking equipment in and out which we have done(see mikes thread on club equipment) more group buys which we tried to set up on a schedule for club members that however was not what everyone wanted. Because when we tried to bring some unity and conformity so that people could have dates and time frames for group buys everyone wanted to set up their own. No big deal set up your own don't ask a board to provide more group buys and then we we have an idea of how to organize give us grief. More club activities we have tried to do that asked for suggestions and even got some. We have some things in the works and if people came to meetings they would know more instead of speaking on things that might not be totally correct. Also i have stated how much we have in our accounts and i am not going to post amounts on this open thread. but we have this year i can tell you bought the meals for the meeting in Feb and at Zef's place and a bunch of gift cards at the fins of franklin. As far as buying new club equipment i have been authorized to purchase 3-4 po4 meter that are 40 bucks to give out as door prizes and we are looking for a cheap but good quality par meter. I don't know why purchasing the club equipment is such a big deal though all i see are people complaining about this and that but then not even participate in meetings or anything like that. I can see though why the last board ( and please don't take this the wrong way previous board) got feed up and disconnected from the club. When we just cant do anything right but all the people on here complaining have all the answer but not the gall to run for a place on the board. Thats just a said thing that we have all this knowledge after the fact. And if you that are complaining are not even paid members then yes please start your own club and see if Reefcentral will start you a place to do your thing at. And if you are a member then please do more than just question what, why and how things happen or are done and get involved. That really is a solution stop tearing people down and how about offering a helping hand. I hope that none of this has been taken the wrong way by anyone and if so please pm or call but i will not participate in the bashing of members or non-members alike.

Why are you coming at me with both barrels? I'm not trying to be anything, this is me. I have a dry sense of humor, so I get misunderstood alot, but being witty comes naturally to me. But does that make me smarter than you? Of course not. It's probably more genetics than anything. (kidding, relax) Look, I don't know you at all, but I think we'd be better off trying to be friends rather than being douchebags to each other. However, if you want to pursue that and see where it goes, that's your call.

The fact that I'm respectful doesnt mean I'm gonna let someone get slick with me cause I dont get down like that.

I see what Jason is saying I'm with about to much negative within the club. And most of the time it's the same people.
Look at it this way. Comp. That like to support our club sees these threads and back out. Won't give use items to raffle or do us good with group buys. And athers that is thinking of joining. I know if I seen some threads like this 2yrs ago. I wouldn't joined. I just think that this back and forth dosent help anyone or get things done.

I had to re-quote this from Zef! This is WHAT I'm talking about! I'm being blunt here, how many that's doing the confrontation had them in the past? Go back and re-read your posts....

Back to you again, about the childish comments! I am just FED UP of this constant bickering. We voted Jason as our president so we should try to stick by him until he give us no other choice!

Some of this bickering have deterred some of older members away cause they all got fed up. So let's all start over nicely, IF you can't play nice. Why don't you take it else where! Some of you also have mentioned that your done with our club, blah blah blah, why are you still here bickering?

You have made some good points in your post and the board should take in consideration on them.

To the Board,

I personally think on the meeting that we probably get most members there at the Critter meeting, we should try to let all the paid members that showed up know the scoop about our budget and such so there will be no more bickering about that situation.

Let's all get this none sense resolved so we can move on with something else. Remember THINK before you speak!!!!!! Be kind to others cause we're all really just visitors onto this site, not like anyone of us owns it. But IF you start crap, then YES I WILL JUMP YOU! Mike, I'm sorry you misunderstood me, but that's not my fault and it doesn't give you the right to act that way. When I said ignorance is bliss, I was talking about MY ignorance about club finances, and it was a compliment to the BOD. As in, I don't care where my dues go, because I blindly trust the BOD with that responsibility. As far as the rest of this mess, let me lay it out for you.

This is kind of weird, but you took your own quote out of context to try and make me look bad here. That quote you used, "I mean somethings just cant be..." was in response to Zach's post. Here's a more complete version of that quote that shows it in proper context (relevant text in red):

When you said "everyone" you were explaining why you disagreed with Zach's suggestion that members be allowed to see the financials. So "everyone" in the context of your post means ordinary members. That's backed up by the rest of the content, where you infer that this is all "behind the scenes" BOD stuff. The gist of your post seems to be that financials are privileged information for the BOD - When Zach asked if members could see them your first words in response were "Now this I don't agree with", which is what prompted me to post asking why.

Now that I'm done wasting 20 minutes of my Saturday night proving why I'm right and you're not, I'd just like to say, naa naaa na naaaa naaa. How's that for childish?
