Went out drinking, just got home, it's about 4am, and my tank is an absolute cloud. My green bubble tip let itself loose and got caught in my koralia1 powerhead. It was completely wound up and torn apart, nothing left of it really, so I tossed it. Did it release a chemical nightmare into my tank? I plan on doing a series of waterchanges in the morning, but what else do I need to run? I'm gonna get some carbon, but what else should I do to save the two $50 clowns my gf just bought me!? Quarantine in the mean time?

***!

Thanks guys!

Water changes ASAP are definitely a good thing, hope you were able to at least get a portion of that knocked out last night. Last week I had a RBTA get annihilated by my vortech - very upsetting but everything turned out to be ok. I tested the water when I saw the giant white cloud that was my tank and ammonia was sitting @ 0.25 ppm, did a 25% water change immediatedly - my tank has been running for about 6 months so it was able to process the remaining ammonia overnight. The cloudiness took about 2 days to subside but all my other livestock (fish swam and ate normally, crabs crawled, etc), corals (full PE from my SPS still, only my GSP retracted), etc. made it through with nary a scratch.

Oh and skimming a little wetter definitely helps.

I did a 50% water change this morning, about to do a 25% change right now. My tanks been running for at least a year and I've been breaking in an Octo bh1000F skimmer so hopefully it will clean up pretty quick.
