I had zero growth no color everything looked terrible so I broke down the total system put everything in a 100gal horse trough ,soaked everything in vinager added fresh ro/di water to tank and fuge added salt added 75# BRS dead rock and am cycling with shrimp should I use old rock I'm afraid of pests on rock can I dip the old live rock to be sure,All corals will be dipped and added once cycle is complete I'm I on right track. Any suggestions. Thanks

I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer your question, but it often takes longer than 1.5 hours to get the information you are seeking.

hard to say really depends on why you had trouble in the first place. Personally I set up my last few tanks with dead rock alone.

I would start out by giving us a detailed description of your tank (size), if you have a sump
or not, lighting, and all other assorted equipment you plan to use.

Then explain what your goal is for this tank. SPS only? Mix?

The more information the better in a nice easy to read format so people can pick at what
they think will work or not work for you.
