Everyone is welcome at my house. If there has been a problem with LFS selling frag swap items, or whatever happened, I think it can be solved by simply asking the LFS owners in attendance not to sell the frags in the shops if the seller has a problem with that. I am sure they will respect your wishes. I feel like the LFS owners are an asset to us as local reefers, in that they have local livestock available for purchase and they have wholesale accounts, and they are pretty darn experienced as this is their profession, plus they need us to need them. I hope that the LFS owners will come with the intentions of advancing the local reefing community and not for a feeble attempt at a cheap wholesale order. The past is the past. Lets just get together trade some coral, place a few bids on stuff we like, try to learn something new, and most importantly make some new friends.

The frag swap will be Aug 4th, at 1:30pm at my house

(I will release my addresses as the date nears, University area). Please post photos (on this thread) of what you will be bringing to the swap. Trades are encouraged. Participants will also be able to place an unlimited amount of coral up for auction, at a reasonable opening bid (their choice, if they go too high, item won't sell, if they go to low, then they make a new reefing buddy that might hook them up some other time). We are hopping to have a lecture from someone on something taking place at sometime during the meet. Pizza slices, sandwiches, beer, wine, and soda can be purchased at the local market.

I think the issue of parsites, sick corals and disease should be addressed. If you have a coral that has been sick lately or you just had a infestation of zoa nudis or perhaps you have a really cool SPS but it has the red bugs, you know which ones I am talking about, PLEASE be responsible and do not bring these items, no-one wants them!!!. If you know there is a problem do not spread it to those around you, fix it, then trade responsibly.
With that said, I am pretty positive that there isn't a single one of us that wants one of the many "problem hitchhikers" can come with one of our new friends; yet many of us have had these unwanted "problems" occur in our own tank. If so-&-so trades you a frag with the bugs and it wipes out your system, in the end it is your fault for not quarenteeing the new additions. A quarentee tank can be setup for very little money, far less than the potental results of not quarenteeing.
Trading coral is like someone handing you a gun and telling you its not loaded. Its best to check for yourself before pointing it at your family and all the friends you have collected and pulling the trigger. In the end you only have yourself to blame. I know because I have made the mistake myself, with the coral not the gun LOL, and it was a ***** to fix. I will dip all the corals I am trading the day before just to make sure something didn't get by me unkownigly all of my coral has been in my posession for many months and has not have any known problems. Some weird stuff can crawl out of the little holes in our rocks, so lets do our best to give quality coral to each other.
Lets make this a great frag swap, I am really excited about the great stuff that is going to be there. Fun for all, come one, come all!!!
LETS SEE SOME CORAL PICS!!!!!!!
