There are so many salt mixes to choose from, which one in your opinion is the best? There's Red Sea Pro, Tropic Marine Pro, OceanPure, D-D, Corallife, Kent, Instant Ocean, Seachem, Brightwell, ESV, and more. I'm setting up a new system and want save on additives.

Analysis of different salt mixes. Personally, I use Coralife.

Wow thanks a ton!! That analysis doc is amazing. The price difference between "better" brands and run of the mill brands is huge. Instant Ocean 200 gallons for 45 bucks versus Tropic Marin 200G for 75.

Cheaper the better...most of the name brands out there are gonna do you just fine....kinda like anything else in stores...you pay for the name.

I have been using Ocean Pure for the past 4-5 years. It dissolves very quickly and clear. I have never had any issues with it. And most of the time its on sale buy 1 bucket get 1 bucket free.

To start off with I'd go with IO or regular Tropic Marin. Later, when you start stockin with corals I'd go with Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt or similar.
