Do I keep dosing vinegar? I've only been adding about a tbsp every other day, and seemed to have helped in bringing my nitrates from around 40ish, to below 5. But it seems to kill coralline as well?
tests the other day were as follows:

(all API unless noted)
SG 1.024
temp 78
ph 8.2
ammonia 0
nitrites 0
nitrate 5
calcium 440
mag 1500 (salifert)
phosphate .25 (I think, damn color charts!!)
alk 8.6 (salifert)

specs look good???

Now maybe my corals shall be happier???

My first tank just went threw the cycle... I've never heard of vinegar... But, all those numbers look perfect as far as I know. Perfect for coral. I always heard of plenums being used to trap nitrates so you don't have to change water. But, beyond that I am as lost as you are... (Don't take my word).

Guess I should've added, this is in my 90gal that's been running for about 12 years. I gotta re do my signature line I guess? Thanks for the response werezmiepie. Best of luck with your tank. Dosing vinegar is one way of bringing nitrates down

Your carbon doseing.this is the third thing bacteria needs to live ....nitrate phosfate and carbon. Now they eat. Your corolline needs this too but the bacteria wins. This is good. The algae and bacteria in your tank now fight and the poo eaters will win. Congrats. Your a reefer
