So why isn't a thread pinned about getting clams?

There should be a thread pinned up about where to find clams online and what to lookfor in clams, not just links but hobiests own words.

I've been looking for a T. Gigas online but can't find one for less than 94 dollars. I don't want to get one from the LFS because they are rather expesive there and my LFS is riddled with all kinds of parasitic snails and nudibranchs and is generally a place where inverts go to die.

No, I just haven't updated my tanks for a while, I've got a rubbermade tub and a green house to put it in.

Boulder is something like a 6 hour drive over the mountains from here. As for the green house there is a green house at my school here, and I can get some room in it if I want (Its heated and cooled). I have a chiller and a hand full of heaters, so I could do somehting like the sun powered reef in the large tanks thread for the summer and moswt of the spring and fall seasons, and then move it in doors and hit it with either my 150 MH or my 256 combined wattts of CF depending on how I want to set up my tanks.

People point to clams direct all the time in this forum, and if you look at other forums like the macro algae forum you will see that they post up places to find livestock.

yes they do, but there is a difference in asking and getting an answer, and posting info straight out promoting the business.

I scored a smaller gigas at my LFS, they were asking 49.99 I traded in one of my ultra crocea for it and some credit back as well..

SCORE!

They had a LARGE gigas as well like 6-7inchs, they were asking $99.99 and it was oh so worth it, (wishes he had a 180)
