SoCal Reefers Accountability Partnership. Who's with me?

Im here guys.... been under the weather. Went to bed fine lastnight but my stomach was iffy... soon as i got in bed i started FREEZING under the covers... didnt wana bug my wife but i was practically cunvulsing from the chills. At 5 am i couldnt handle it anymore so i woke her up and she was thinking i had a fever, but it was opposite... my skin was soo cold. She put socks on me and gave a ibruprofen and about 6 i fell asleep. At 8 i had woken up to use the restroom and it was like i jumped in a pool.... soo im feeling the groggyness and overall blah today. Hope it goes away asap... but on a good note, lost 3.5 lbs this week :-)

Brent go take a nice hot bath and just chill in there that will break the cold chills your getting and then rape yourself up pretty good...

Day 8

I took my boys, switchfoot, the eagles, Supertramp and Yes, and went on a great 4-5 mile hike. It felt good. My back has loosened up and the hike really helped that! I ate good until dinner where I started with some rotisserie chicken (good) and a couple slices of Costco deep dish pizza (bad!). I was ticked about having my surgery postponed so I said s....w it. Poor excuse but....don't care. Going on a good hike in the morning before work and if I still feel good will run some stairs and workout on my garage gym after work. G' nite.

Oh man your gunna get back surgery man I been afraid to do mine because I just hate surgery and plus I'm afraid they gunna mess it up even more
Not back surgery today Ian. I had back surgery twice quite awhile ago. Today was just some minor surgery to have a lg cyst removed from my neck on the back of my head. All done with a local. I would advise you that if you have been recommended surgery on your back and a second and third opinion concurred then get it done. Great strides have been made in spinal surgery with minimal invasiveness and quick recovery.

Rik and the Partnership Group,

You guys are doing GREAT! I have let myself, my tank, and you guys down. This thread is good motivation because of you guys. 2 new pages since I last posted. So I finally got back to the gym yesterday, the first day back is the hardest after a long break. Now that I got that first day over, daily workouts shouldn't be a problem. I also gave my tank a good scrubbing and a WC.

Thanks for the help guys! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for this awesome post and the reason why I wanted to do this. Holding each other accountable makes it so much easier to keep up the efforts when we just don't want to do the right thing. Keep it up UMass!!! And keep checking in!

Day 9 and Day 10

Day 9 I had a difficult time organizing my day with work and work related errands to get some good exercise in so I accomplished very little. Today looked even worse because I had a 10 hour day starting at 7:30 AM. today I was not to be defeated so I walked to work and walked home, just over 2 mi each way. Coupled with being on my feet 10 straight hours, my legs are sore and I'm exhausted so heading to bed. Thanks everyone for the continued support

Days 11 - 14

Haven't posted in a few days but not because I've been slacking. Been busy at work and had a little surgery to remove a cyst (went well) but have been walking back and forth to work everyday which is 2+ mi each way. I actually got weighed yesterday at Drs office prior to the procedure and my weight was less then last time there in Nov prior to holidays so feeling pretty good about that. I am also doing something called the Daniel Fast through my church for 21 days. It started Sunday. As far as the eating part of the fast goes, it's basically eating vegan, no meats, dairy, only whole grains and no sugars, sweeteners or chemical of any kind plus only water. It hasn't been bad, actually I haven't minded except I miss my morning coffee.
So, how is everyone else doing?

I'm incredibly happy to see a thread like this! In 2010 I was 280 LBS. I woke up one day and decided I didn't want to handicap myself through the best years of my life! By 2011 I was 175LBS and still going strong=]. Everything you want is within your grasp. Don't wait around, TAKE IT! Empower yourself, have confidence, and everyone can do amazing things! Blessings, power and strength to all those who have decided to take charge of their lives!

Thank you for sharing your success. I'm down 30+ since June. Not where I want to be either. And congratulations to you as well.

Haven't checked in as iv been super busy as usual. But iv been eating clean the last two weeks, no unhealthy fast food (only brown rice teryaki with no sauce) an of course coffee.

Iv been trying to lift heavier in the gym just to build a little more strength I'm hoping to be able to deadlift about 500 pounds by march, right now I don't have any spotter at the gym and I like my back and walking so I won't go past 365 and that I can do 4 reps. And squats I haven't tried setting a PR but I hope to soon.

Reef related my tank is horrible, my fish get fed and I haven't been home long enough to do a WC not that I have much coral after a random crash about 7 months ago when I setup my Gfo reactor and lost the small seal so it leaked Gfo into the tank I need to top off and I decided hmmm maybe I should just pour water in the sump kicked up all the Gfo killed my few sps pieces. Still have lps and softies tho.

Day 15

The new gym opened in town on Tuesday. I bought a membership in Nov and tonight my son and I went to the gym together. I rode the life cycle on a 10 min warmup, then did a 45 min fat burn program and a 5 min cool down. My son and I then did an abs workout together. Had a real good time! Planning on going back tomorrow and talking with a trainer.
