SoCal's 60g SPS cube (2x2x2)

Great build. I replied in another thread about your lighting setup. I want the same light but I can't hang it from the ceiling. What is it that you are using to hang the light from?

I just bought two pieces of 1/2'' conduit pipe and bent it 90 degrees and drilled it to the back of my stand. Took 20 min total and works great.

Jealous that's what I wanted over my 60 cube... How high you have that off the water?
I currently have it about 9 inches above the water running at 40% intensity.

Here are some more pics:

Wow great looking tank. I'm hoping to build something similar instead I'd like to go 30 wide instead of a perfect cube. My original plan was for a powermodule but might have to consider those LEDs. Congrats on the nice build.

Thanks. 30 inches wide would give your fish a little more swimming room and more water volume. If you can swing it, I'd say go for it.

So far the Radion is doing a great job. All my SPS and Zoas are either responding positively or not showing any difference than with my MH. Some of my SPS are changing color some, though I think it may be for the better as they needed to color up after my absence for three months over the summer while I was out of the country doing research. I am seeing steady growth out of my cali tort, teal tort, monti setosa, garf bonsai, hawkins echinata, pink lemonade, and green slimer. Some of my wild acros are not doing much atm, but they may still be adjusting. All zoas seem to be taking it well. My 2 heads of purple hornets have already shot another little head up.

After reading for a few months, I finally decided on a camera. I got a Canon T2I dslr. I took some pics with it of the tank, but I clearly have a long ways to go on learning how to use it.

How do you like the Radion so far? Or better yet hows the inhabitants liking it? I should be picking mine up this week.

My SPS seems to really like the Radion. I had no browning out, RTN, or anything like that since I put it over the tank. Some of my SPS have shown changes in color, so I am interested in what their final colors turn out to be. Most have shown no change and have kept growing at the same pace.

How high off the water? Do you have the light output at full?

Hey SoCalDude, what kind of power intensity is the Radion running at in the picts you posted today. It seems that most folks run their fixtures at well less that max. Tank is great!! Big profs.

Thanks! It is running at 60%. I ramp it up 10% each week.
