SoCal's 60g SPS cube (2x2x2)

How are you running the light? Natural mode? What color temp do have it set at. I think I've come up with a solution to avoiding the stretched out cables on that light hanger kit your using. I'll post pics in my cube thread when I do it and I'll let you know.

I don't have a natural mode. The last I heard, ecotech is still working on it? Has it been released? I would be interested in seeing what you have been working on.

I don't know if it's been released or not. Haven't even turned the light on yet. I was bored at work the other night and downloaded the manual to my iPhone they talk about the natural and artificial ( I think) modes in there so I assumed you could do it.

So do you have yours set to a certain kelvin?

I'm hoping to get the light hangers tomorrow or Tuesday. Once I get them screwed to either side of the stand I will mock up what I'm thinking to see if it works. If it does I'll post pics in my build thread and let you know.

Here is what I downloaded. They talk about the 2 modes on pages 6 and 7

Looking good. It's nice to see great pics of Radion growth and not a led/t5 war.

Ya, I will try and post pics every so often with growth. I have had about a half inch in growth on either encrusting or branching growth. Very impressed so far.

Removed the McCoskers flasher wrasse as there was a lot of aggression between it and the male Carpenter flasher wrasse. Now the tank has one male Carpenter and one female Carpenter. Peace has come to the tank.

I thought you still had it. How lonfg you had Him for? Mine is been a month. He eats everything including seaweed all day
My bipartus only last two days. Not sure why it died. Probably died as a result of shipping stress. The ornate pictured is doing well though. Eating everything, including flake. I am planning on getting another bipartus sooner or later.

Glad to see sps growth pics, no one in the uk has posted any! I have swapped from plasmas and love the colours just worries about growth

Ordered a JNS Alpha 1 biopellet reactor. Looking forward to getting it running to see what the effects are on the tank. I am having a small outbreak of bryopsis that I am attempting to treat with elevated Mg levels and the biopellets.

Ok I STILL don't have the tank running yet :hmm2: BUT it's slowly coming along.

This is what I did for the light. Mounted the light hangers on each side of the stand. Then I got a thick piece of wooden dowel and painted it black. Put it across the two hangers and secured it in place with electrical zip ties. Two on each end. Hang the light on the center of the dowel. This will eliminate the stretched out cable look.

What do you think? Yes? No?

Ordered a JNS biopellet reactor and a second mp10w and a hanna phos checker and some other misc items. This tank is in dire need of more flow and the second mp10 will be perfect.

Looking to add a yellow candy hog and another bipartus leopard as well as some more SPS (blue mille, also looking for red acros and other nice ones). I would also like to get an interesting invert. Right now I have the CUC, GBTA, cleaner shrimp, and a blue linkia star. Anyone have any suggestions?
