but now I have changed the scape a little bit to make more room for sps. Stay tune for more of my adventure of my Gobies Acans Paradise!

I love your tank. It's so surreal. Candyland, Dr. Seuss, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Alice in Wonderland all come to mind.

Where in NJ?
I picked up mine from Aquarium Center in Clementon, NJ a little over a year ago. As far as I know they arent discontinued.

Call the nearest local fish store and have them order the Solana and stand for you. It ships freight to their door and you dont have to worry about UPS or FedEx delivering a smashed up tank to your house.

Thanks Nirvanaandtool & Mr86mister! I am Chrissy's husband and we finally found one locally. We ended writing Current-USA and asked for a list of authorized dealers. The Solana 34 itself is in fact not discontinued. The problem was we were trying to find one with a Sunpod 250 and not bundled with the NovaExtreme T5HO unit. We ended up going to Tropiquarium in Ocean Twp. Surprisingly they had quite the reasonable price for the tank and stand and didn't force me into a light I didn't want. It is set to arrive next Tuesday.

We decided on the 17.5" Ecoxotic Panorama Fixture for lighting which I will likely add a few more Panorama modules to for some additional PAR and possibly a stinger or two for color.

I've been doing a bit of research on the skimmer. I am likey to replace it right from the get go. Tunze or the NanoReefSystems NRS 2.5-3... Decisions.

I have a Vortech MP10wES ready to go as well. Can't wait to use it. Certainly simpler than my old setup which had a monster closed loop and an Oceans Motions 8-way :)

We look forward to participating in the thread!

Hello Solara Owners,
Got my Solana tank setup over the weekend with Catalina saltwater from LFS, sand, liverock and a cocktail shrimp. Right now, I've the stock skimmer & filter pad in the first chamber (no bioballs), filter floss in the 2nd chamber, and return pump without removable beveled glass top. So here are my questions:

1. Do I really need the removable beveled glass in the 3rd chamber? (bought a used tank so no glass bottle).

2. Should I add Chemi-Pure & Purigen into the 2nd chamber now or wait until my new tank is cycle.

3. Can I use pantyhose to store Chem-Pure & Purigen?

Thanks in advance for all the help that I can get.

You dont need the plastic plate unless you are using the top-off. I would wait until you start to get livestock before adding chemipure, so after cycle and CUC.

Cant answer your last question, as chemipure comes inside some stocking already?

Anyway, these are my comments... not saying they are the right ones

My problem with the Solana is the Tunze 6025 I added.... I almost have too much flow and I cant find a place for my hammerhead & bubble coral without them getting thrashed around.....

Current setup picture is just 2-4 posts up

So I just moved to a new apartment and all my fish and corals are in totes with a powerhead and heaters...been like this since Monday evening, hoping to set things up friday morning I assume the tank will go through a cycle hoping my corals will mkae it. I have so many zoes it would be hell to buy them all again. will post pics when I get it all setup again. Should I run charcol or anything to help?

If you've had the rock in the buckets with the fish and coral and you reuse the old water, you really shouldn't cycle. I wouldn't reuse the sand though. Just keep new sw handy and do a water change if the nitrates build up.

Awesome. Glad to hear it worked out for you and you found your Solana!!
Never been to that store but I hear good things!

I'd go Tunze but thats just me. I'm really happy with my 9002.

Awesome... Got a 10ES ready to go? Sounds like you are in good shape. That and the LED unit will be awesome on the tank!

Best of luck with the tank!

Awesome. Love meeting another Maynard fan!
What MJK song is your favorite?

What MJK song is your favorite?

HAH, what MJK song if my fav? Probably Pushit from Aenima. But honestly, there isn't one song that I don't like. I've been driving the wife crazy with this for 10+ years already. She's a closet MJK Fan. :lol2:

On the reefing topic: Panorama light showed up yesterday. Nice piece of equipment overall. I hope that it performs as good as it looks!

The tank is due to arrive today, so I look forward to that. I also decided on the Tunze skimmer with the in-tank cup mod. I will also do the airline mod as noted by Chiefmcfuz (thanks).

I just need to do a little bit of research to find out exactly what needs done to get it to fit. I see some people saying you have to remove the magnet and others saying you don't. Guess once I have the tank and the Tunze I will be able to make that decision for myself.

Since I have a MP10w, and I got a decent deal on a fairly new used one, I am thinking of buying another and linking them together (master/slave setup). First though I need to buy the Osmolator.

I was able to get it to fit without modding the magnet you just end up with the top grate for the second chamber sitting at a little bit of an angle.
