Sorry for the bad pics. Again I got hurt at work and don't have the scraping ability in my right hand and these are cell phone pics from my thunderbolt. It's an 8mp camera.

Can we see a side-on picture of the light fixture? When I tried to mount mine that way it leaned forwards. I now have mine hanging from the ceiling.

As for the MP10 dry dock........ cracker keepers

I bought one the other day, but now I have the rock work just how I like it I don't think I'll be using it.

I am now a proud owner of a solana - if I can find an open lfs in dc I mint add water tomorrow. Looking at the ai sol or nano- will probably have to hang the sol from the ceiling- is there an easy way to do this? 9002 and ato and trim kit are on their way. Getting excited!

Made some Changes to the Solana this weekend, First off I spray painted the white eggcrate on top black to keep fish from jumping out. I thought the black just looked better, Heres a pic showing white Vs Black!

I also Took the Original Light off the back of the stand and Built my new LED Hangers out of black spray painted PVC mounted to the stand with fasteners!

I will be hanging the light tomorrow night!!

I also got rid of the huge mushroom and replaced it with a Smalled one, Also re arranged the rocks ! Will have more pics with in the next 2 days.

Also got rid of the 2 Maxi jet pumps and my MP10 will be here tomorrow!

I like the look of the black egg crate. How's your upgrades going? We're thinking about LEDs for our Solana. Trying them out on the 12g JBJ first. ;-)

I have water in the tank, a Sol Super Blue, Osmolator and 9002 on the way. Does the 9002 fit fully in the left chamber and can you put the filter area cover on or does it stick up at all? I have the EuroReef unit and it is really obtrusive. I got the full InTank set of components as well FWIW. Thanks - pictures when it looks like more than an empty cube of water.

I have a 9002 in the left chamber with the intank cup and I am able to put a screen top over the entire tank. Although the skimmer is about as low as it can go.

Hey man I'll have to try and get someones camera but I run the blue lights alot and its really hard to pick up the blues on my phone camera. I'll work on it this weekend tho. Getting my 9002 nano skimmer today. So my current set up is the following.

Lights: AI Sol Blue LED's

Skimmer: 9002 Tunze nano W/custom stevie T cup

Water changes: 5 Gallons per week.

Filter Media: Carbon and Chemi-pure elite

Dosing: none atm

Flow: Vortech Mp10 es

Other: Reef keeper lite. Deep sand bed.

Folks,
I just got the 9002 skimmer and the InTank media basket. 2 related challenges:

1) the skimmer magnet wants to sit at the part of the divider where the plastic ledges are glued on. So it is either too high above water or too low. How have you handled this?

2) the media basket hits the skimmer magnet and won't go in.

I can't be the first to have these problems - any ideas?

Pry the magnet off//cut it off and put it on the back with super glue gel, this is what everyone does

Welcome to RC and nice tank!

You should check out the "Southern California Reefers" forum here on RC. There are always excellent deals on corals, equipment, etc forsale daily.

Well I have been making progress: 9002 modified with magnet moved, media basket installed, Tunze ATO installed, I have an old Aqua Controlled monitoring temp, and a wavemaker with some powerheads for circulation - want to replace them with the vortech but the credit card is still a bit dazed.

I have live rock/sand arriving on Monday from TBS, and an AI SOL in theory shipping from RG. So that leaves aquascaping, and figuring out how to mount the light.

Since the tank is filled, and my wife like things done neatly, am going to need to figure out an elegant way of hanging the light - perhaps I can put a shelf over the tank and hang it from that - we'll see.
