Still working on getting a better picture!! Again its hard for me to capture the leds.. These pics do the tank no justice :(

I did get rid of my oscellaris clowns and exchanged them at the LFS for 2 mis bar perculas. The bulb anemone is on the move as well.

I'm more of a minimalist fan, So I tried to go with that approach. I also seen that your starting a fluval edge so please keep me posted on that. PM me with updates or pics or a build thread link please.

Well I'll keep this thread alive then with inane updates about my tank. Been having a few problems with AI sol nano lights for a while now. I'll get some pictures up soon.

I am in the process of making some changes to my tank. Trying to upgrade the skimmer now and may replace it. Also considering adding a sump. Have seen some good ideas here but have not yet determined how, what, or if I'll do it.

I ordered another reactor for the purpose of running biopellets but need to improve the skimmer situation first. I'm a year in on this thing and have gone through one major set back. The tank is overall doing well, but just need some improvement in a few areas.

I'm considering adding an mp10 to my solana. Where are you all placing them in the tank? Is there a real difference between the wireless and regular model in terms of one allowing you to place it differently? Looking for thoughts on what to get and where to put it...

I say buy it! It's a great pump. I don't see a need for the "W" version on a smaller tank like this unless you have an upgrade planned and you want to set up a master / slave situation with multiple vortechs.

Regarding placement, mine is on the side right now roughly mid depth. I'll be building a dry dock for it so I can put it in the second chamber and have it on the rear wall.

I have the Ecoxotic 25g which is essentially the same as the Solana so I wanted to get everyone's input on my build issues. The tank is going to be at my office, however the building my office is in turns off the HVAC on the weekends which means I will need a chiller for the summer months.

My issue is I don't know what chiller would be best for this tank and I don't know how to get the chiller pluming done. I have considered drilling the tank but that would be a last resort. What does everyone use for a chiller and how do you have it configured for the tank?

No chiller on our tank. We keep our house at 83 when home and 86 while away. What we did was buy 2 small wal-mart fans $5 each and hooked them up to a temp probe that controlls the one off cycle by the temp range we set. It kicks the fans on when the tank hits a certain temp and back off. Our tank has a MH that's on during the day while the house is 86 w no temp issues. I would think w a smaller tank this would work fine foe you as well. How do you like the tank? I was looking one online and thinking of replacing my 12 gallon nano w it. Good luck!

Hey everyone, just got my first frags in today!!! 4 pulsing Xenia and 3 montys. I am so stoked!

The only safe way to see it done I would think would to have an overflow box or to drill the tank right?

Maybe. If you have an older one that doesn't have the cut out in the back glass for cords, then yes, I say drill. I have a newer one with the cut out and was thinking that I could use the cut out as an overflow and DIY an external overflow box with "bean animal" style drains. I just haven't done anything with my thoughts yet. I have been considering a new build and if I do that I'm not dumping any more $$ into the Solana.
