thanks cam.. took a long time to get my collection for my main display and now stocking my solana with my favorite frags from my main...and filling up quick

Looks great 121ddler!!! I love the swivel light stand idea... great for getting into the tank as needed... how high did you mount the 250w over the tank??

So just a fan to keep it at 80F? What is your A/C set on? (Room temp here can push 80F+ in the hottest part of the summer... old house and crappy A/C, so I'm betting it would take more than a fan to keep me at 82F where I prefer to keep my tanks) I'm betting I'd have to run either a reverse lighting cycle or hook up a chiller to keep my tank cool around August ::sigh::

the light is 10" from the water... .. the tank is in the bottom of a three story house which is the coolest room in the house... i think the house stays about 82 before the air comes on.. i live in cali so at the peak of summer the area will get up to 110, but im not worried cause i do have a spare chiller if needed..

Picked up the Solana this weekend and completed the transfer from my larger tank.

Thanks for this thread guys! I just bought a solana and it has been set up for about two weeks now. I added a ato, a four fan azoo aquarium fan and a wavemaker with a koralia 1 and a koralia nano. Everything else is stock, I do have a quick question. When I was messing with the light I pulled up on the metal cord that it hangs from and it raised the light all the way up. How do I get it to release and let the light ball back down? I have tried pulling down, loosening the nut, and nothing works!~ I will post pics later. Thanks again guys!

that would have been one of the top choices im looking into.. also thinking of making a bracket behind the stand so i can add an external skimmer. i dont know of yet but wanted to do something noone had done yet. but its hard with so many awesome solanas out there

Hey Matty,
With one hand, release the tension on the wire. with the other hand push up the little metal piece (where the wire comes out). Now you should be able to adjust the light.

I belive that there is spring loaded button on the side of the lamp or on the top of the stand, push that in and then you can lower the dome.

I have the Sunpod so I am not where I see this at the moment. I can look give you an answer tomorrow if no one else has chimed in.

it lower the light push the top pin in. the top pin has the wire coming out of it that connects to the fixture arm itself

I have a couple of questions for everyone. Are any of you using a custom made top? If so what are you using? Also if any of you are using an ATO how did you mount the sensor beings the third chamber is so deep? At least in my experience so far the top off bottles are useless so I ordered an ATO
