So if you mesh modded the return pump and have it now on the skimmer, what are you using for a return?

Ok, I just joined the club. I'm downgrading from a 120g to the solana. I got the Outer Orbit 1x250w + 4x24w T5 light. The only thing I don't like so far is the microbubbles. The stock skimmer is producing a ton and the return pump will stutter every once in a while and shoot some microbubbles in the tank. Anyway, here's what I've got so far.......I'll be transferring livestock in this weekend:

Damn dude, sorry to hear about the tank. Hopefully they'll get you a quick replacement.
The only part of mine that didn't survive shipping was the glass for the door in the stand. Luckily I was going to take that out and replace it with wood anyway.:eek2:

Wow, that's awful.. I feel bad for you and Dr.'s Foster and Smith.. They have shipped me a number of things and they're always packed with more than enough care and attention for it to be their fault. I feel like they're having to eat the cost of something that the shipping company should be responsible for...

Buza .that sucks..contact DF&S... request they double box the tank. They have a forum in the Vendors section, post there too .
Looks like there are a few other people with the OuterOrbit for their tanks... i have the same thing ...went with the 150w model and switched the bulb to a Iwasaki 6500k

I haven't filled the tank yet, i'm still trying to get around to setting up the foam wall that is going in the tank and playing around with the stock skimmer in an attemp to supercharge it

I went with the 250w outer orbit with the T5s. I'm going to be switching the bulb out for a 14K (haven't decided which one yet) and hanging the fixture from the ceiling and have it about 10-12"off the water. I'm going to be switching over one of my Vortech MP20s once all of the sand settles. I may try a mesh wheel mod to the skimmer to get me until Euroreef starts selling their nano skimmer in a couple of months......because this stock skimmer sucks!

I found one at Marine and Reef web site: http://tinyurl.com/5feyf5 This one appears to be branded by Current and is called a Solana (not EcoCube). It includes a 150w HQI Sundial and has what I would guess is low Fe glass ("SuperBrite")

The tank I got from Dr. Fos (the broken one) is called an ecocube by dr. foster but when i got it the box says solana, it is 24 gallons and does have "HC" glass. I can't tell if the glass is really clearer, because mine is broke. But I will post when the new one comes. I called Dr. Fos and they were very good about sending out a replacement. I kinda feel bad for them because I think it is the way the manufacturer packages the tank that made it very easy to break. Did anyone else receive their tank broken?

There have been stories on here earlier and in my local reef club's forum about damaged Solana tanks coming from DrFS but everyone has been cheerfully replaced quickly. One guy I saw had three tries before he got one in one piece.
