No, I saw it at a local store and went home and tried to find somewhere to purchase it online. I had NO luck. In the end I went back to the store and had them order one for me.

Did you just ask for the Lee-Mar stand? Thanks for the input

Rhizo,

They had one there for me to look at, but would not sell it to me separately from the tank, which I already had. So, I ask them to order one for me. I picked it up three days later.

Here is a picture (note that it did not come with the nickel handles, I added those myself) Execuse the mess these are build pictures.

noblerot,

Nice stand! What are you doing for the second return pump into the tank? Have you tried the vortech out yet.... does it seem like a good amount of flow or too much??

wastememphis,

I have not fired up the VorTech yet, so I am not sure. The second return is setup so I can point a nozzle at each back corner as I have heard this can become I dead spot. It will also keep me from needing to add a powerhead if anything happens to the VorTech.

so sad to leave this club but this is my last picture of my empty solana... just had to upgrade to a larger rimless with a sump...=)

WOE, nice bigger rimless.

what brand is it?

i also want to take my solana to my office and get a bigget one at home.

the tank is made locally here by lee mar... i might resetup my tank if i drill the back and plumb it together with my new setup... maybe a frag tank??

Couples q's has anyone ever read thier tank stand manual?! Near the back it states that the maximum weight load is 350#Uhhhh.......

1 gallon of water = 8.35 lbs x 38 gallons + weight of tank + live rock and sand = way too frickin close for comfort weight wise. Noooo way I want to chance it weight wise with the stansd.

What alternative stands have people got aside from the lee-mar? I'm in Ohio and my LFS cant get lee-mar.

tank is only 34 gallons, but even less when you put sand and rocks in. You should be fine with the 350lb limit.

I still don't understand why they would have it that close weight wise as a manufacturer, wouldn't you want a LITTLE more buffer on the load your stand could hold?
My lfs got the wrong color stand in so I thought no prob, I'll just assemble, and swap out when my new one comes. I put that stand together, and it seems like the most rickity stand ev-ar for something that will hold very close to, if not over 350#. It also appeared the stand had been assembeled and used one time before (LFS was very ****ED that they got a USED stand.)

Before anyone says anything, I have rewired my house, remodeled my entire bathroom, retiled it, and built a barn. I know how to use a hammer, and no the rickity-ness wasn't due to my assembling capabilities.

Adding Wet sand is very heavy, plus weight , rocks, coral and another 5 gallons worth of RODI autotop off water in the cabinet, add water swell/evaporation over the years.... I know a ton of people are using the stands no problem, but after assembling the stand, I just can't trust it.
I love the tank, it's the best thing since sliced bread-- but I need some reassurance from solana owners who have had there tank up for a few YEARS, or I need to find a solid wood cabinet or stand.

Has anyone used other methods to make the fram sturdier? internal braces, etc?

Here is mine

I switched over from a 24 aquapod to this.

1 Melanarus Coris Wrasse
1 Watchman Goby
1 Fire shrimp
1 Pistol Shrimp
Some crabs and nassarius snails
1 Clam
Various Mushrooms, Zoas and LPS corals.

Stock return
2 Koralia nano's (for now)
150w Jager heater.

My stand is very solid--been set up for over a year no problems. I would always prefer a solid base over the 4-leg style, just because it's easier to level, but this stand works fine.

Sounds like the one they sold you definitely needs to be replaced. Maybe it was returned because it was defective  That would stink--at least you have a new one coming

Another new Solana owner reporting in. I just picked up my Solana on Sunday and my Sunpod came in today. Hopefully I can start getting set up tonight. I really like the build quality and looks of this tank/stand!

Hi there, Im trying to build a low power energy efficient nano reef and might go the solana way but got some questions. Will probably use the solana T5 lighting or LED lighting.

How many watts does the return pump run on? how about the skimmer pump?

If upgrades are necessary to the return pump or the skimmer pump, which pumps are needed?

THX in advance

Hi would anyone here be interested in buying the The Sapphire Solana/Cardiff Nanoskimmer brand new still in the box? I ordered it for myself originally but I am a college student and the loan that was supposed to go through to help me pay my tuition did not so as of right now I cant really afford anything. I can’t return or I would!

Please if you are interested let me know right away! Thanks
