No, he did not say my name, but he made obvious references and personal jabs, which is just as bad. He created the drama, not me.
 
Only obvious if you felt guilty :D There are 133401 members on RC . He could have been talking about anyone . You started the drama by being paraniod. Only then did it go further . You could have bit your lip but no you had to drag it out .

Ha good one cindy.To tell you the truth I love buying new gadgets.I was tempted to buy the solaris just to see what it could do.My tank is 36" deep so I don't know if it would be powerfull enough.
 
I love new technology too. I don't normally buy first gen, but bit the bullet on this one. My tank is 30 so I'm sure I'm pushing it. The way I look at it Mushrooms will love the bottom...

I only I had found the ignore rich a few pages ago! How can you make those comments w/o trying the product... No one can. If you haven't noticed LED lighting is replacing lighting in every industry. Who's to say what these are capable of unless tested by the people... us! Perhaps even with less watts, lumens, par etc... our little corals are just going to like this light better and keep on growing. Plus with all ther cool features as far as dimming it and stuff we could creatre even more natural enviornments. People need to accept that change happens and put their energies into new and better ways...
aye... Cindy I can't wait to see pics! I'm planning a 1500 gal with natural sunlight and hope the technology comes far enough for me to use it to supplement (lol it should 10 years from now).

Sometimes, things arent possible. When the LEDs PFO is using are LESS efficient than Halide bulbs, they arent going to put out more light.

I'm saying nothing about LEDs in general here, just the PFO fixture.

Sometimes you dont need to use something to know its Hype.

Riddle's study isnt valid, IMO. Its too handicapped. Its like taking a Tunze and a maxijet, and then narrowing down the field studied to a 1/4" circle, and then making the claim that the maxijet is more efficient, and moves more water.

He misses the forest, for the trees.
 
Sorry I disagree math may be absolute... however science is not. I was going on into a huge tangent, however I'll stay on topic. It is impossible to know the potential of this product until people on this forum and others have tried and reviewed it. And there's no disputing that. We need people like cindy to buy first gen products so we know what works and what doesn't! Stop saying it's not worth it etc... We NEED those adventureous people. If I had the extra $3K for the 60" I'd have ordered mine weeks ago.
 
My post w/ diagram a few posts back explains how PFO can achieve higher lux with less lumens at the BOTTOM where their measurements are taken, its because the way in which the light is distrubuted is different. There is no doubt that a PFO fixture per watt puts out 1/3 to 1/4 the total lumens of an MH bulb.

Dude why are you even here? Why do you keep posting? Its obvious that you don't like the solaris and don't think that its a good replacement for MH's. We heard you the first time. Its time for you to move on now. The rest of us here beleive in the solaris and what we're told it can do. If we're wrong we'll find out by testing it, not from you telling us we're wrong. Let us decide if it works or not. Cindy I can't wait for you to tell us all about it once you get it.

And why are you still here.? Its obvious that if you could have the Solaris's babies, you would. C'mon, seriously, you're a homer, I'm a hater.

LEDs are the way of the future.

LEDs that do 25-50 lumens/watt are NOT the future, and thats what theyre using here. How can 75w of LEds doing 25/lumens per watt put out more light than 250w of halide doing 75-100 lumens per watt? It cant. Its simple.

Its pretty easy to make it appear that it does though, by limiting the field you're testing, and using the fact that LEDs have really narrow spread. You get 95% of the LED's light in a 12x12 box, and 20% of the Halides. See how one looks brighter?


When we see one of these things using the 100+ lumen/watt Leds, I'll be the first one in line, and I'll pay the cash. When we get up over 100, thats where the energy savings will be, thats where these things will shine.

I'm not paying for a step DOWN in efficiency and a HUGE step down in output because the marketing division of PFO says it will save me money.
 
Why am I even argueing with you? I forgot you know it all. You must have gone to Harvard or Yale. Nope I'm going to do just like everybody else here. Ignore you and come to my own opnion.
 
Nope its done I found the ignore button. Anyways It should be any day now before we start seeing the first of the feedback. The first units I was told shipped today. I can't wait to hear the initial reaction to these and if everything still looks good a few months from now hopefully it will be mine.
 
And for what its worth. I HAVE seen these units. I WAS AT IMAC. I think that gives me more ability to comment on these than most of you. I HAVE SEEN THEM.

Go out, spend your money. You want them. Just dont buy them thinking you're getting an increase in efficiency. When they get the newer LEDs in them, yes, but with the current 3w luxeons, theyre less efficient than halides. Period.
