wow Louis-
thanks for sharing your art.
I like your composition and capture on 'screech'.
Inspirational stuff.

Thanks everyone. I was hoping to get some aurora in the Yurt shot (and in fact if you look in the bottom left corner you'll see a faint glow) but it was not meant to be.

Alaskan Wildflower - I love the way the DOF rendered this one.

Those look good man, I wish I had been able to get some good northern lights shots this winter, your photos of those are amazing.

Thanks everyone. I figured you guys would appreciate them :).

Yeah the Aurora has been pretty lame the past 2 years for the most part. They actually go in an 11-12 year cycle (or there about's) and we are in the bottom of it. From what I've read it may be one of the worst low activity periods in 100 years.

Yep, I saw almost nothing this year for activity, I chalked it up to living in Anchorage and too much light pollution.

nope - it's just been quiet. There's been nights when I got home from shooting and saw them overhead standing in a brightly lit parking lot of midtown. Same with the moon, people think they kill it but I have an image of the northern lights practically wrapping around a full moon. When they're on you can see them if it's nighttime.
