I prefer Canon (better lens selection) but you absolutely can't go wrong with a Nikon. As a guy whose really into photography I'd recommend spending less on a used entry level body only and then spend the $$$ on lenses...it's SO MUCH about the glass!

Canon 5d, stock Sunpod 14000K DE halide. I've been thinking about getting the Phoenix but I'm very happy with the color on the stock bulb. Perfect crisp blue.

These were shot with various lenses, all prime (no zooms). I shoot with a 28mm 1.8, a 50mm 1.4, and a 100mm 2.8 Macro. I believe all of these were with my 100mm lens.
