here are some new pics.....

The open brain is what i got for trade when I gave my toadstool to exotic aqutics

and the pony is what the wife got. Her first salt water purchase for her 8g. She is upset that she got it now. She wants to get a bigger tank now and go get some of the ORA horses that Klaus has.... I told her when she gets a job and can support her hobby then its fine.

Also told her that it would be worth her time to become a card carring member to get her discount...LOL

lol...nice pics. what kind of corals can you keep with the pony?

I know I can keep some of the shrooms, xenia, zoos, pretty much anything that is not going to sting it. I really wish she didn't get it. I don't have the tank set up for it.

very nice. That brain looks a bit bleached but should regain it's color if you feed it and it likes it's situation......lower light, good flow but not blasting.....sandy bottom....and they love that food we made up.....turn off the powerheads and set some food in it and it will eat it up.

What where is the pics of the rare white sps??????????

I have some. But I don't like to show them off. I keep those hidden, as they are so rare, I don't want to be robbed for my rare and exotic white coral

I thought it looked pretty bad at the first look, but it really puffs up and feeds great. The guy at the kendallville shop said they have had it under PCs for several months. It really isn't white, it is really light pink with hints of green, but if it got more color it wouldn't upset me at all.

Ahh it will deepen in colour once it is fed regularily and is in a stable environment. Mine was pretty pale pink when I bought it and now it is deeper red and green.

The wife and I picked up some PE mysis from klaus today. I will try spot feeding some of the corals, and the brain tomorrow to see how that goes. probably move the acan back into my tank to now that I got rid of the 400w MHs.

For those of you that haven't tried that PE msyis yet, that stuff is great.

I have to agree Phil that PE mysis is some nice stuff. I couldn't believe the difference between PE and the previous brand I was using.

Just something to consider. I soak all of my frozen foods in selcon to replace some of the nutrition lost during the whole freezing process. After a month or so foods, especially seafood, loose nutritonal value to almost half. I have some if you want to try a little. Fish seem to have a little bit bigger appetite when I do soak the foods vs not soaking them. Plus the pod life will benefit from it also

Klaus sells Selcon.....I use it in my frozen food.....and I use PE mysis in it also. When buying frozen mysis, check the nutritional content and you will see that the PE mysis has a ton more protein and crude fat in it than any other out there.....You can feel the fat content in it when you squish it between your fingers....slows down the skimmer when you feed it but the corals and fish eat it up. It is the best mysis to use with finicky eaters.

I soak my foods in that too. I think its great to get finicky fish to eat, but thats the only benefit I see. I use it in my QT tanks

I like feeding the pellets with garlic to my fish, I think it really does help with things like ick and picky eaters. I have not done that ot my frozen yet, but would like to start for sure. Especially with the sea horses, they eat fine, but want to make sure I can keep them healthy. Lord knows if they die for what ever reason, I am going to be the one that has to pay for her pet loss....LOL

Also things like amino acids and vitamins, does anyone dose those? I read a thread on reef buzz where one of the members doses Vit C in her tank.. I am can't remember if she noticed anything in the fish, but she said she saw a huge improvement in her zoos, sofites, and LPS

I have read people take the vitamin C pills from walgreens or wherever, and put the pills right in there tank. I havent heard anything negative about it. I was going to experiment with it to see if it really did help or not but havent really had the time to...They said it helps with everything from fish colors to zoa colors, but it make you wonder if its really a mind over matter type thing, maybe paying more attention to your tank b/c you think your trying to help it.

Thats what I was thinking. i haven't seen any pics of a before and after type deal to really say Wow, this really does help. I have read though and I think I heard it on Reef cast that Evan was dosing amino acids and noticed a difference in his corals, but again I saw no pics. And what happens if you over dose? can you over dose that or does your skimmer just take it all out?
