Some new pictures

Awesome pics and reef, as always!

I will see you at the auction if I'm not busy being winched out of a rock hole...:)

Love the rock scapes. Proof that you don't need to go overboard on rock to have a successful tank. I don't know how much rock you have but the '1 pound per gallon' rule is out the window, in general.

Haha, thanks. Yeah, I'd say there's about 60-70 pounds in there all said and done. So around 0.5#/gallon. Good skimmer and aggressive siphoning while doing water changes. Been pretty successful so far, few hiccups along the way though.

Wow great FTS those are NASTY looking tanks. Can't wait till they grow out more

:) Thanks a lot! I can't wait either. The SPS tank is certainly a test of patience compared to the LPS/softy tank. There's so much color in the LPS tank and it's hands down my favorite to sit in front of at the moment. That may change once the acros get nice and big.

Awesome pics and reef, as always!

Thanks Phil! I wouldn't blame you one bit for skipping out on the auction to take your jeep out for a spin. Too many mistresses...errr, I mean, hobbies.

Great pics and love the aquascape. Looking forward to seeing more.

Much appreciated!

Here's a more recent FTS of the ADA -- almost all of the frags on the sand bed have been placed up on the rock since this picture though.

Here's a partial side-shot of the Envision:

Here are a few pics that I posted over on FRAG's new forum as testers for hosting on flickr instead of photobucket -- I think there's less detail loss with flickr:

I'm going to try and break out the camera a bit this weekend in between doing some updates to both tanks.

I believe it's nepthea, however, I have a hard time distinguishing between sinularia and nepthea.

Which one is Christine's tank? I vote for the ADA.

ding ding ding, winner-winner.

where is the ADA live rock from?

Some rock is from another FRAG memeber that took his tank down -- I think that was Marco or BRS rock. I acid washed it and soaked it for awhile. The other half is from Reefrocks.com -- they're a sponsor here. I did their #50 of rock + sand deal. The sand had a lot of crap in it (e.g., sticks and random shells) but after rinsing, it was really nice. I like the look of it a lot. Little too fine if you're doing a SPS tank with high flow though. I've since replaced a good chunk of the sand bed in the ADA because it has dissolved and/or been siphoned out during water changes.

Wow those are some awsome pics, everytime I try to get a pic of my fish its a blur lol thats a camera phone though!

Okay, this picture is just sick!
Awesome man!!
You must show me how to use my T4i; better yet, how about a FRAG photo demonstration with you showing us how you do it??

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Haha, thanks Phil! Gary Parr (sp?) is doing a photo class on October 13 for FRAG. I'm looking forward to that but I'd be happy to do a demonstration sometime. And, of course, I'm happy to help you with your T4i. Kristina has a T3i and I'm trying to help her with taking pictures with her kit lens. Good lenses and post-processing software goes a long way though.

You should have seen the process to get this last batch of pictures. It was a two person job: Kristina was holding an off-shoe flash over the tank tracking the fish while I was shooting. She took the reigns a few times and snapped the pictures while I held the lens. It was a racket but a few turned out -- should have seen how many "throw-aways" there were. Sweet Saturday night here at Casa de Zibba -- tanqueray/tonic, wrasse books and fish photography.

Some very nice shots there Eric. What better way to spend a Saturday night?

Nice meeting you today!

I'm sure a FRAG photo demonstration could worked out, too if you're game! Seems there are a bunch of photo enthusiasts out there who could show us a thing or two.

I'm looking to change out my live rock, I can't decided if I want to do dry rock or live rock. If you get dry rock do you have to always cure it?
