Some of my stuff

Nice looking corals.

A few suggestions if you're interested.
- Some of the images could be sharper and I'm seeing shutter speeds of 1/20-1/30, which makes me think you are hand holding. If so, try using a tripod and remote shutter release or self timer.
- Turn off pumps before shooting (reduces subject movement, encourages polyp extension and reduces marine snow)
- Many people find out of focus objects in the foreground distracting. Composing the shot such that the primary object / area of interest is in the foreground and setting the focal plane there is generally a good thing.
- Avoid center composition
- Remove marine snow from your images. Doing so really improves the look and feel.

I'm seeing shutter speeds of 1/20-1/30,

Ive always wondered how people can view the camera settings of a posted photo. How is this done? Thanks

Beautiful corals by the way!

PS One other suggestion is to use a smaller aperture, like F7 or 8. This will bring more depth of the subject into focus. It will also reduce shutter speed so a tripod and remote trigger is essential. You may need to increase your iso to boost the shutter speed but that can reduce image quality.

PPS. if you dont have a tripod, a couch pillow on a stool will work just fine :)

Digital photos often contain metadata, such as EXIF and IPTC info. Using an EXIF info viewer, one can see that information if it is present. I right click on the photo in the browser, select "View EXIF info" and view whatever data are available.

I use the Opanda exif viewer for windows. It's free. Opanda IExif
