Some photos

In terms of the black background, the back of my tank is painted black, and if you adjust your exposure up and down, you can create `blackness`or the look of it anyway with empty space (or in this case empty water lol) in behind your subject. Taking some playing around, but easily doable once you figure it out. HTH.

Yes. Creating a dark background for me is as easy as having a well lit subject in the foreground and nothing behind it. The background just disappears, and my tank has a clear glass background. You could always put a dark cloth behind the tank if you feel that would help.

That's awesome! She is obviously pretty talented. Please do send me some photos when she is done, I'd be very interested to see how it turns out. As much as taking a photo can be time consuming to do correctly, painting it takes even longer!

She should auction that thing off on here when it's done. I would have it over my tank or add it to my fish room. Great pic, awesome painting

I haven't had the opportunity to take too many photos recently, but here are a few:

Jordan
holy crow, those are nice photos and corals.

the 2nd photo of the 1st lot - is that a red planet/hyacinthus or some crazy red efflo variant?

the 6th one (1st lot, after the SSC) what is that?

Sorry for the late response, didn't see this until now! The second is a Red Planet. Was sold to me as the ORA red planet, but I don't think it is the ORA one. It is a red planet "knock off", but is definitely a hyacinthus. Very nice coral, though more pink in coloration than the ORA red planets I've seen.

The 6th is a mari-cultured A. Plana. It is identical to what most would call a "Crayola Plana". Beautiful pearly iridescent base with purplish tips, and multi-coloured polyps. I bought it paled right out but it coloured up quickly and actually has started to grow out at the perimeter while also encrusting at the base at the same time.

well this picture doesn't do the finished pictures justice but they came out great!!!

Great photos converted to printed canvas.

The Mrs and I are very pleased! Thank you so much!

Looks great!

I am thinking of getting a few done myself. We've gotten canvases made in the past and they look great. I went into the new local Black's store last week as well, and they have an incredible array of photo display products now - the ones I was looking at were metal prints that have an acrylic overlay, and they display borderless with mount that make them project out from the wall. I got a couple made for a friend with some pics I took of him wakeboarding, I'm interesting to see how they turn out and may go that route.

Welcome back Jordan tank looks great love the rope looks like a pirates treasure box lol. Pictures are amazing as always. Is that a Cali tort looks amazing. Love the scape too

Thanks Franky, that is indeed a Cali Tort. That last pic of the limeaide was actually pretty stopped down, ISO 6400, f7.1, 1/640, with the Canon 100 2.8 macro on my 6D, handheld (normally I use a tripod but feeling lazy, hence the higher ISO and shutter speed).

Hope all is well with your system :)
