Just some pics of the mantis shrimp I caught.
I saw it in a hole where I had seen it lurking before, pulled the whole rock out and put it in a bucket, squirted fresh water into the hole with a pipette and out it came in a few seconds.
(if these pics don't work I'll try and post them again!)
This animal is in the genus Gonodactylaceus. I can't see the telson well enought to make a positive ID, but it is probably G. falcatus. Do you know where the rock is from?
What are you doing with the mantis? My husband had one and in our move he didn't make it. I am looking for a peacock. and would like to get it for him for our anniversary. I need to try and be stealth and hope he doesn't read this.
