some pics

I'm trying to get in the habit of taking a full batch of pics every couple of months to help document my tank. I took a bunch last night and thought I'd share a few of the better ones.

I'm shooting with a Nikon D3100 and using Adobe Lightroom for post processing - I'm still getting used to both, so you'll see things over exposed, over sharpened, out of focus, etc... but the pics are good enough to serve their purpose, and a few actually turned out pretty good.

Pictures were taken under actinics, not long after daylights went off, so a few of the corals are somewhat retracted.

The complete gallery, with larger pics, is here, for anyone that's interested.

Great camera! I just got mine about a month ago and am getting used to it. How do you like Adobe Lightroom? I'm still looking for a quality editing program. Could never do that with the 35mm...lol. The pictures look great too! Love the picture of your Orange Plate. Tank looks great as well!! Great color combinations.

There are some things I REALLY like about Lightroom (as compared to photoshop, which I've been working in for years). Photo editing... things like white balance, exposure, brighness, color balance, etc is MUCH easier/faster in lightroom. There are a variety of viewing options that are nice too.

Hopefully as I use it more, things like cropping, resizing, managing photos/galleries etc will become more intuitive. Right now those kinds of things feel clunky to me, but probably more because I'm used to the way photoshop works.
