Now I'm searching the that +500gal tank, so I can add a few more.

Adding the purple tang during the group meeting, was like having a fighting rooster show. Anthony said "$20 bucks on the achilles". I must say I was a little more than worried for the larger purple tang.
It was just the first few hours of that day that I had problems. Once I put the mirror was up, the aggression stopped. The mirror was taken down after 3 days. No problems since then.

Re: Some recent photos of my tangs

There are several problems with thise bigger tanks.

1/ where do you put it. Something that big you hate to hide in the basement and would like it as a nice attention getter when people enter the house.

2./ once you have 500 gallons you start thinking if I only had 1,000 gallons, then once you have 1,000 gallons you start dreaming about 2,000 gallons. Where does it stop when the wallet is empty?

I was thinking a custom 420gal would ge great. It would be like (2) 210gal tanks joined together for a 12' long tank. Even better would be a little wider, say 3'W x 12'L x 2.5'D.
If I told my wife we were moving to Arizona. She wouldn't have a problem with that.

Actually when I look at the cost of this hobby. It can be obsessive, but look at the cost of a Harley or a Snowmobile. I'm good with what I have for now. But would I ever like to start a "Tang Rescue Program".

Well Here I am. I started off cleaning out the girlfriend's basement when I first moved in. Some reason I hate a messy house. While cleaning I found a ten gallon aqaurium ( tank only ). I asked her if I could set it up. year to date I have had 1 - 10, 2 - 15 highs, 1 - 30, 1 - 50, 1 - 75, 1 - 92 corner ( current tank ), and 2 - 125's. Recently I bought a coral banded shark. D.O.B. 10 - 25 - 06. I know this guy will need plenty of room for swimming. So I posted an add on RC to sell some of my stuff to come up with the money for a 280 gallon aquarium from glass cages ( thanks for the lead purple red sea tang ). The tank is 72L x 36D x 24H. Still didn't seem fair in the interest of the shark and there is no way I am getting and 8' tank down stair. So I'm building a room in my basement and building a tank. I would like it to be 8'L x 4'D x 24H. I have been directed to a site called Garfs. They tell you how to make a tank out of plywood with a glass or acrylic front. I am no craftmans but what do I have to lose but, a couple of buck and a wet basement.

Party at your house when filling the tank. I'll even bring the beer.

WOW!!! What kind is that first one???? That one is absolutely beautiful. well done!
The first fish is a "red sea purple tang". I'll take another photo in a month or so. It's starting to get the vibrant markings that tang should have. Unfortunately all tangs need to eat alot, & some people are afraid to deal with the bioload. You need a good skimmer & fuge to clean the water. Starving the fish is not an option with me.
I still have a ways to go to fattin that purple tang up.

Hey Prugs, you finish the dehumidifier yet? I'd like to know how it turns out.
Right now the dehumidifier is just plugged in, in the basement. The windows are doing good, not sweating like before. Tomorrow I'll be ducting the unit to the fish room. That should make all the difference in the world.
