some white stuff on maroon clown

a few days ago, i noticed that my marroon clown had a white dot on his dorsal fin, and tail fin. Today, i noticed that the 2 white dots developed into specks and seem almost thread-like/cotton-like. Also, another *tiny* patch developed on his side--thread-like/cottonlike patch. He just started hosting in my condy anemone a few days ago--could this be the reason for it? since maroons don't usually host in condy's ... other than that, I havne't added in inhabitants in over a month, so I'm puzzled as to what this could be.

25 gal, 1 M. clown, 2 damsels, 1 goby, but the clown is defintely the boss in there.

please let me know how to treat it, what it is, etc.

thanks a lot,
Jamie

not from the anemone. I would try to capture him and put him in to QT. Treat with hypo salinity for 2 weeks, if that doesnt work low doses of copper should kill whatever is on it.

hmm...i just looked at it now, and the patch on its side seems smaller, and it no longer seems fuzzy anymore. The other tiny tufts on the tail and the dorsal fin are still there. I think I'm gonna give it 2 more days to see if it'll go away, before attempting to capture him. Since I'm pretty lousy at catching fish, I'm afraid it'll only stress out the little guy more. I'll keep you posted!

thanks,
Jamie
