Something "different"??

I think the last one that went for that price was about 1958.
But you can still buy lobster salad in East Hampton for $125.00 a pound. Yes, one pound.

 We got 10 pounders in the late 60's for a buck a pound as the meat is kinda tough but it makes great Newburg. I don't imagine there are a bunch of 10 lb lobsters around these days.

In the 40 years I have been diving in the Sound I only saw one.
I used to spear a flounder and feed it to her whenever I dove near her. I never collected her because of the millions of eggs she must have laid.
Out by Montauk they may still get them but I haven't seen any

I think they don't allow the big boys to be harvested anymore. Size limit is like 3 lbs or so in Maine.

Theres always the watanabei angelfish "Genicanthus watanabei". "The fish in my avatar". I currently have 2 females and they ignore my corals, inverts, and clams completely. Hopefully one day, one will become a male. Watanabie's are hermaphroditic. Males are much prettier.

I love that fish too

but I can't resist here---
I find your post a little bit of an oxymoron:D If the fish is both sexes then how can a male be prettier---maybe one ends the male and the other the female like worms.

I definitely had that coming!

For those of you who don't know what the male watanabei looks like, heres a link with pictures of a male and female hermaphrodite Watanabei's. "I keep digging a deeper hole."
