Something in the water??

Quick solution would be to set up a smaller QT tank and see what happens there. That is the best policy anyway.

Are you using RO/DI? Water company could have added chemicals to the water? Do you hear any clicking from the tank?

Funny you say that. I just started setting one up last night. I was growing a ton of mangroves in a 20 but I took them all out and broke down the tank. I know I should have one set up already but I was slacking. Today I shall spend more money!!! :)

Yes RODI for everything. Zero TDS.

It's weird. Inverts and softies being affected but not fish. Maybe stray voltage? Do you have a grounding probe?

voltage is not the cause, stray voltage means your have 120v in the water, nothing else.

I would inspect every pump/heater for cracks/exposed copper

::Shrug::
I always thought water and electricity didn't mix. I had a bad PH that was leaking voltage. Got rid of it and added a probe and and a few of my softies opened up like they never had before. At any rate, as Holmes said remove all the obvious and no matter how irrational the answer is.... Solution though reduction.

Yes, I do have a grounding probe. The fish are as happy as can be. Eating very well (better than me), very active and the colors are great. A friend gave me a Kenya Tree friday and it's still slumped over today. I have done two water changes totaling 50% of my volume using Tropic Marin Pro. I'm at a lose. :confused:

I am assuming none of your plumbing parts are copper? pipes, elbows, valves, etc? I would guess not but I have read about someone doing this before.

Have you checked the calibration of your refractometer?

I checked it about a month ago but I will check again

No all plumbing is PVC. No metal in the water.

Skins, a pump can't leak a few volt, it's either 0 volts or 120 volts.

It you check the voltage in the tank and you get something like 36 volts, it's just electromagnetic field, which normally is from ungrounded balast/reflector or from pumps. It doesn't affect living things.
