something on clownfish mouth

So after ordering a clown and it being a giant compared to my snowflake i was able to trade the clown i originally ordered for a wyoming white. After i received this from a friend i let him sit in a breeding net for a few days and today i released him into the tank. The two clowns seemed to be fine together and i watched from afar and did not see any negative acts towards each other. In the breeding net the fish was fine but as soon as i released him he seemed to get this piece of something on his mouth like a stray piece of food. Any idea of what it might be if anything other than food or any suggestions of something i need to do other than let him get it off on his own?

Why not simply catch the fish and remove it? Clowns are very easy to net after the lights go out, their sleep is kind of like a trance.

the only problem i have with that is what if its not something just hanging there? i saw something about lymphocystis so if somehow it had appeared that quick would trying to remove lymphocystis cause more damage?

It ended up disappearing on its own after a day or two. Still don't know what it was but guessing it wasn't lymphocystis since it went away after only a day or two.
