Something stung me?

I have a bad hair algae problem in my tank, noone worry about advice for that because i've tried everything, i'm in the process of drying my rock to get rid of it once and for all. But any way. I was scrubbing the algae off with a tooth brush and i found one big flat pinkish reddish worm on a rock and of course lots of bristleworms. Well when i was done, my fingers and inbetween them were ate up. lots of little bumps and stuff. It was obviously from something on my rock, but was it the bristleworms, i didn't know that they sting, what do yall think?

Yes Bristleworms sting... It could also be that you've got sensitive skin to the salt water (I am). My finger joints are always reddish and dry when I've got my hands in the tank for too long. Moisturize them just to be sure.

its not my hands being in s/w, i work in an lfs and i'm sure my hands would be destroyed if that were the case, along with my arms to. I probably scrub tank walls for a bout 4 hours a day
