Hey sonny, are you feeding your tank anything besides the Coral Amino?

Also, I am not using the Microbacter7. However, my nutrients are really low as I am starting to go through the rest of my cycle. I started my tank about three weeks to a month ago, just added the sump about a week and a half ago.

I haven't seen any red slime or stray bacteria. Do you think there is any reason I should add MB7 to my dosing schedule?

Thanks Sonny!

What order do you have them in...

Also, when you show pics of your tank are they with all the bulbs on or just the blue?? Doesn't the 3 aquablues make it really really white and super bright? In your pics it seems like they may be with only the blue bulbs on...

Sunny,

You mentioned about the removing the detritus buildup in a sump tank with live rocks. How do you control the detritus in your main tank that is under your live rocks? I picked up a few random live rocks in my main tank and couldnt believe all the detritus that has built up over the months. Obviously I can not remove all my live rocks and clean all the detritus underneath it.

Hello, I Vacuum my sandbed once a month is order to remove any built up waste. I wrote briefly about it on my blog: http://www.rimlessreef.com/1/post/2009/04/vacuumingyour-reef.html

Sonny
you tank is just mind blowing love it. I have been dosing the Vodka and Mb7 in my tank and I kid you not the water is crystal clear and my Sps are for the first time glow with color. I am up to .8 ml in my tank of Vodka and 4 drops of Mb7 and everything looks great. My N is .25 and my P is 0.1 to 0.3 I have been testing on Saturdays so this week will be my second test after the dosing started. Should I test more or is once a week good enough?
I would post pictures but after the ones you just posted I don't dare :)
Lmao great pictures hope mine look that nice in time to come.
Michael

I am happy that your tank is now turning around for the better. Slowly but surely your corals will color up and look amazing. Testing the levels once a week is enough.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Sunny, would you consider doing a write-up on your blog on the process you go through when taking pictures of your tank?

The nice thing about MB7/vodka is that you can feed you system more and not worry about algae or PO4. I think the biggest impact on my coral growth and coloration has been the increased feeding of the fish. I only feed my system fish food and occasionally AA's. I am down to about 6 drops a week on the AA's.

So, even though you levels are already low you can still benefit from a bacteria driven system.

Hello,

Some of the shots are taken with All Blue+, full lighting, or with 4 Blue+ and One Aquablue. I need to do a better job at recording which picture is which.

When all the lights are on the lighting an color look perfect, not too white or blue.

Here is the layout:

No problem. ;) Its basically a combo of Photoshop CS3, Adobe Light Room II, Nikon D50 SLR, and about 200 shots a session in order to get 10 good pictures.

How about camera settings, typical things you adjust in Lightroom/Photoshop, and what top down box you use (if any)?

No problem. I will double check my camera settings this afternoon when I get home and post a small write up on my blog.

Thanks! :D

The MB7/vodka and increased feedings have really darkened up my corals. When I First started up with T5's my corals were pretty pastel and light, but now they look much better.

Lights are only part of the equation so dont go ripping your lights off just yet. :p

What do you feed your fish?

Spectrum brand large and small size pellets along with Formula One flake food.

Sonny I know this has been covered a few times but I just ordered my MB7.

Tank is 75 gallon (slowly pulling out LR and cooking it.. all corals are small and some small frags) Mixed reef.

As far as dosing, I believe I have roughly about 90 gallons NET volume water.. help a brotha out :) I have decent algae growth nothing not tolerable.. to apoint.. I would say its low-med nutrient. I have not recieved my shipment in yet, but will be here tomorrow. I am doing a 30 gallon water change tonight or tomorrow afternoon. How should I start out the dosing? I also bought brightwells strontium powder due to the seachem being out of order. Scott from Aquarium Specialty told me that the brightwell is 4x more potent. Thanks bud.
