Out of curiosity, why did you change from prodibio to brightwell? What were the pros and cons for you with each system? Thanks

Sunny, or anyone else who can answer this question. Why do we need to mix the MB7 with 250ml of tank water? I tried researching it but have no luck finding the answer.

From following his thread so far, the only dosing he does other than vodka,ca,alk,mg,aa,mb7 are lugol's and strontium.

He does water changes monthly.

the user 250g is the guy who doesn't do water changes. Well he does..but very rarely.

Just curious what your REDOX levels are on your tank. Have you tried measuring it? I would think with all the bacteria in your tank, you will have good REDOX values.

I have been dosing vodka and mb7 for 3 weeks now and my REDOX levels have been climbing up even without pumping ozone. My logs shows me that I started at about 250 mv before dosing, and now, 3 weeks after, it is now at 306 mv. I am so happy since it has reached the desirable levels (300 mv - 350 mv) even without using ozone. I hope it keeps climbing up.

I would follow the dosing guide here if you decide to strictly dose vodka: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-08/nftt/index.php

If you are going to be using only vodka the dosage will be higher based on the charts in the link above.

Hello,

I switched over because:

-MB7 was easier to find
-cost less
- I am able to dose daily instead of every 15 days like Biodigest

I dont mix mine up with tank water. I simply drip it into the tank in front of a power head.

are you still dosing 14drops of MB7 daily? Does it come with a dropper? so your dosing approx 1ml per day? what size bottle do you buy and how long do you think that would last you?
