Cooking your rocks may not get rid of your aptasia. The only thing that has worked for my system in the past was a Copperband Butterfly. In the the old 225gl I had a bad breakout of aptaisa and it was a pain to keep them in check. I would have to squirt feed them a kalk mixture with a syringe every few days in order to keep them from killing my SPS. One day I decided to pick up a Copperband Butterfly in order to control the aptasia. Within three days not even ONE aptasia could be found!

Even though I no longer have the Copperband, I still have no aptasia. He did that good of a job.

Hello,

Leave the carbon in the sump as it will have to effect on the MB7. Be sure to shake the mesh bag every few days in order to release nay built up bacteria.

Your dosing schedule looks good.Be sure to maintain proper skimming and aeration in the system. After two weeks of MB7 start up with vodka following the charts I posted earlier.

Where did you find a pic? I have never taken a close up shot of it yet.

The Pink Lemonade has pink polyps and EXTREMELY yellow base. I would say that it is right now one of my fastest growing corals.

It is the start of a new month so I need to take some new pics anyways. I will see about getting a close up of the pink Lemonade.

Wow, one year already! Well, I will be taking some pictures today to mark the special occasion. I will post up some old pictures and growth shots as well.

Its not a close up but I thought I saw it in the 2-04-09 group of pics. The middle row fourth pic from the bottom. I thought the coral in the back left of the picture was it. Would love to see a close up shot. Glad to hear its nice and yellow under alot of blue. I want to try one but I'm about to switch to a radium 20k MH. I read they like alot of light to stay yellow but I wasn't sure with the higher K.

I have only had the Pink Lemonade for about two month so the pic you seen is definitely not it.

Sonny....where do you have your Bird of Paradise at in your tank?? Mine is starting to lose its bright coloration. I have mine about mid-way in my tank. Could it just also be that it's new to my tank and hasn't adjusted?? Maybe the tank it came from wasn't as clean or the alk was ran at a different level??

My BOP is positioned about midway as well. I haven't had mine for too long so I cant comment much on the color. Usually, it takes about 3 weeks for a new coral to color up in my system. the BOP has taken about 2 months and still doesn't have the best color or growth.

I may move it up higher today just to see what happens.

I'll see what yours does and make my judgement based off that. I still have the purple polyps....just not the nice green color anymore. It's real faint. I do think that my dad may have overfed the tank while I was gone though because my Joe the Coral is darker now and has lost a little bit of it's green as well.

Sonny i was looking over your dosing scheduel (thanks for posting that for all to see on rimlessreef.com), and was wondering what are you useing for "AA's" is it still (probi/ reef booster) or something else?

150ML a week seems pretty high, I would double check the dosing instructions. I have found it best to separate the dosing into daily additions. My system seems more stable and the corals seem to like it.

Hello,

I am currently using Brightwells AA's. I ave been using them for a little while now and so far so good. If you pick it up, start with only 1/4 of the recommended dosage. ui started with the full dosage and had brown all over my sandbed.

Sorry 150 ml is wrong. 15 ml is what I added. I geuss what I am asking is should I dose 15ml / Week or 1 drop/50 gallons daily?

Do you dose weekly or daily ?

today i test my po4 can keeping around 0 ( MB7 day 4 )

i know the vodka dosing
0.2 - 0.4 week 1
0.8 week 2
1.4 week 3
i think 1 ML is the best of my tank, bez your tank is using2 ml

this vodka is good or bad ??

Yeah, 150Ml looked awfully high......


I would go with the daily dosing. I do about 14 drops a day on my system.
