Hello, I dose ALK at night to help off set the decline of PH.

sonny, i just tested my tank for nitrates 0-15 & phos was 0- 0.25, both with api test kits. should i dose mb7 with the high nutrient or low nutrient dose? thanks

Are you currently dosing MB7? If you are then continue dosing the same amount regardless of what your tests say. With probiotic dosing you will have a rapid decline in nutrients, which happens about 28 days out.

question: how is affected the change in the photoperiod in the colors of coral;

Hello and thank you I appreciate the kind words. I have had to slowly scale back the photoperiod as my tank has become "cleaner". It is tough sometimes to dial in the correct amount of light, but once you have found the sweet spot the corals reward you with amazing colors.

Hello, I was using Brightwell's AA but have since stopped using AA's altogether. For now I simply feed my tank extra food and this seems to be doing the trick. When my next tank is setup I will start up with the AA's once more.

I would like to start using the MB7 + vodka method to control my nutrients and I have a few questions for you:

Can you refer me to the specific page for your dosing instructions. I poked around reef 2 reef but can't seem to find it.

Also, how quickly after starting the MB7 dosing do you turn the GFO reactor off? Is it at the very beginning, after you add the vodka or at some other point?

Lastly, do you keep a carbon reactor on throughout?

Hello, I will be posting the entire guide on my site in order to help everyone out. You will want to dose the MB7 for two weeks before starting vodka. After the first week of vodka I would remove the GFO. I run carbon in a phosban reactor 24/7, as should everyone.

Hey Sunny, what are you feelings on SCD? I am starting EcoBak pellets next week. Will you be jumping on that bandwagon?

I have looked into the the pellets but I dont know if I will try them out. The price point really isn't as good as what I am doing, and the pellets have yet to be conclusively proven.

Hi Sonny am planing to start MB7 /vodka dosing, and had few quetions , i have remote deep sand, and i know it's been advised to get rid of it before carbon dosing but question is, can still have keep it without getting ill effect down the road? my parameters as fallows.
cal. 420.
alk. 9.
po4. 0
ph 8.2.
no3 0.2-5ppm
salifert test kits were used to chek all params.
i do use activated carbon , and GFO
also was thinking to add lugols solution to get beter colors in my sps , that's main reason i am thinking to start dosing carbon,
considering that all params are normal can i just use MB7 and lugols solution, only?

Also have a MB7/Vodka question.

I'm setting up a 48x24x20 (by Miracles). It will be SPS dominate.

Starting completely fresh with this...been out of the hobby for a few years.

For the MB7, how do you recommend dosing this for a new tank? Can I just do like you..14 drops/daily?

Also, should I start vodka dosing right away (two weeks after I start MB7)? And at what dose of this should i start with?

Will be running an ATB 840 skimmer on the tank. Lighting, 8 bulb PM.

Just started dosing the MB7 and Vodka will come in 2 weeks. My NO3 is quite high so this will be interesting to see. I've started the MB7 with the high nutrient/start up dosage and it says to turn off skimmer for 4 hours after administering each daily dose. Do you guys follow this recommandation? My concern is that turning off the skimmer will reduce aeration.
