Thanks for your quick respone.
I forgot to mention before that, I am aware that with the two part it is recommended to do a 10% weekly water change for the chlorides that buid up,but would it be a problem if say you went on vacation for two weeks and had nobody to trust to do a water change?

Thanks

I do changes about once a month now with no problems. As long as you skim wet and replace the displaced water with fresh water you should be ok.

Hi Sonny

I know a lot of people think that potassium can be depleted in tanks running a probiotic system - do you ever check your potassium levels?

Thanks and love the tank!!

Oh OK. That's good that you still have the tank up. I was going to go down to Lebanon and vote in the upcoming elections but I pushed my ticket back to early July.

I have to tie up a few loose ends before I go.Besides, I had enough bullets, bombs, and death in the late 80's and early 90's so I will wait until after the elections and everything has settled down. I was born here in the USA and have dual citizenship so I can vote in both countries. :D My father is from Tibnin in the south of Lebanon and he emigrated to the USA during the Civil war.

One day I hope to move to Lebanon, there is no place like it on earth.

Delaying your trip till July was a wise choice I believe. Hopefully no bombs and deaths will happen but one can never know... So looking forward to meeting you in July then. please make sure to infor me when you have a date so I modify my traveling schedule to be in Lebanon as I travel for 2-3 weeks every month....

Tropicorium has always been good but recently they have been getting in literally thousands of acans, many maxima clams,Crazy chalices, and now ORA corals.

They always got in great clams, but I never thought that I would see much more than nice stuff that is NFS, xenia, mushrooms, leathers, blastos, Pavona and algae.

Who in Detroit has money to buy Acans and Chalice corals? No one I know thats for sure!

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I change about 20-30gl a month. Although, I do think that doing 10-15gl every two weeks is better then doing it only once a month. I have just been a little busy lately with work, school, and doing home improvements.

You would think that because of the state of the economy in Michigan that sales would be bad but I was surprised to see how fast some of these corals are being sold.

No prob. My travel plans change by the hour.
My 3 coming weeks travel schedule changed 2 trimes this afternoon:rollface:

Love the tank! Could you tell me what type of sand your using. I need a slightly larger grain size and what your using looks great.

Hello and thank you. :D

I am using Caribsea Reeflor Special grade for my sand bed. The grain size is great and doesn't blow around.

That's what I'm looking for. Ever since I added the Vortech I'm having trouble keeping my sand bed in place. The closest I can find is at Premium Aquatics: Caribsea special grade. It doesn't say reeflor on it though. Where did you get yours?

Sunny, while looking at your website, I noticed you turn off your lights once a month to simulate a storm. I have had many thoughts about it, but your results led me to try it and I too had great results! My orange digitata grew 5 new growth tips! Also, a few milleporas grew new tips. But, I only did one day of darkness because I wasn't sure how the clams and the corals would take it.

Crypisis this is the sand I use and I love it. Read the review at the bottom of the page, I did my sand bed just like the reviewer did, I mixed the reef crumbs with the reef flakes. It is by far the best sand I have ever used. It does not move a bit and I have a lot of flow in my tank. I added it after my tank had been up as a bare bottom for a while and even brand new it didnt move. The part about the sand being very clean is true as well I didnt have to wash it much at all. I used two 30 pound bags in my 110 tall to make a sandbed 2-3 inches deep and still had some left over.

Yeah it worked really good me I as well. I guess the day of no light helps the corals concentrate on growth and repair as opposed to defending it self from the bombardment of light.

A day of darkness every two weeks could do wonders for your setup.
