Ya but the hawkins isnt actually an echinata......
I have the hawkins also but Im trying to get my hands on a aussie echinata.
Really? it's always been labeled as such. What is it then?
True. It's like paying a little extra for life insurance.Yeah, but 14 day guarantees on big wild acros aren't![]()
Good to know. I was told it was a turaki but i had my doubts. thanks for clearing that up. Probably named echinata for the appeal since echinatas were hard to get at the time but that's just my wild assumption since i'm not sure when the hawkins was released and the hawkins corallites tips look so different from a echinata
theres suppose to be a picture..let me try again haha

could you shed some light on the differences so i can properly identify mine. thanksThat's a gomezi. There are subtle differences between the corralites of the gomezi and navini.
Nothing scientific with the way I differentiate them. It's mostly from looking at these pieces for a good decade. To me the corralites on the Navini are more symmetrical. The tips of the Navini are more triangular, while the gomezi tip is more flat and square. The color of the Navini has always been greenish-blue, and more blue once you zap it with lights. The famous one of course is the Tyree Navini from the early 2000's. It's a great piece..I was able to obtain a frag of it recently.
