What models you guys using, I;m looking at the Cannon EOS XTI or a Nikon d40-d50. Any opinions? I have always used Cannon but now that my lenses probaly wont fit I could go other ways. Need something to get good pics of my tank :)

I have the cannon eos xsi and for my macros I use the cannon 60mm lens.

Just bought my wife the Cannon EOS-XSi for 'her birthday' . I was on the fence between that and a Nikon D-60 because underwater cases for scuba diving exist for either. Once I added a telephoto lens 55-200 Nikon or 55-250mm Cannon and took in account a rebate Cannon is offering for the pair I think it was an extra $100 to move to the 12 megapixel Cannon.

Regarding your old Canon lenses....do some research and take them in to a shop to try. I had plenty of sales people tell me they won't work which is not necessarily true. The magnification will be different and you may be limited to manual focus. The reverse is true, your digital lenses will not work with your old 35mm film camera.

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks guys, I'm leaning to the xsi, I read that some lenses work and acctully the magnification of the lenses is greater going from film to digital (which sounds like a bonus).

Look at the new canon rebel t1i It is 15 MP and also does HD video. A sort of 2 for one. Kit looks like it is retailing for under 900.
