When you said Lugol's, you did a dip right? Did any flesh peel off or did you see any flat worms?

How is the flow around the coral?

I am not sure how big your corals are, but I would suggest you frag them if you can, in case you lose the whole coral.

This may or may not be feasible depending on the size of your coral now.

You may want to try Furan 2 as a dip.

Myself and other club members have had success arresting STN using this treatment.

STN sorry what does this stand for?
I have to frags I foolishly epoxied 6 weeks ago to a rock they both have 25% of their bodies whitened at the base. I now know the heat the epoxy makes to harden or mend contributed to this but what else can cause whitening at the base when parameters are all in check?

STN stands for slow tissue necrosis. Last time I had that issues, my bulbs were bad. Changed them and everything did a 180.

so what is the dipping process and if its a bacteria infection that i have, doesnt that mean that the bacteria is in the water column as well how would dipping my coral solve the issue,

Have you had any large swings in your parameters lately? Alk swings can cause this type of recession....it has for me. Stability is key.
