If I were able to get a pallet of the stuff down here, how many people would be interested in getting some and how many bags would you want.

The cost would be approximately $8 per 50 lb. bag.

There is no ban on having it in Florida, in fact most of it comes from Florida. There is some rule with the company that distributes it not to sell it for aquarium use. The label on the bag even states that it's not for aquarium use, but there it's nothing but fine grade caribean aragonite sand.

Home Depot does not sell aragonite-based sand in it's stores. At least not any in Central Florida.

As far as I know back when it was actually called Southdown sand the company that distributed it wouldn't sell it to people for aquarium use, I don't know why, but I would assume it's probably because the also sold to the "Aquarium based substrate companies" which in turn charged $15-20 a bag, and they didn't want to lose the business of the "Big Aquarium Companies" or they were under contract.

As Neutron stated, it can't be found anywhere in the southeastern U.S. in any store that I know of.

If I can't find it locally, I'd be down for 5-10 bags. I've got a lot of tanks to fill. Already have seed sand from my established tank. Will probibly pick up a bunch of GARF Grunge to help seed it also(from what I hear, this stuff is the greatest seeding product out there, any other opinions?).

i'll take 10 bags. good luck getting HD to pull it off for u. i had the one over here in waterford said they'd get a pallet in for me, but it fell thru i guess, told me they couldn't do it after all. lemme know, i'm definately interested in 10.

It may or may not be through HD, don't know the exact details yet, but just wanted to get an idea of the demand before anyone invested the money to make it happen.

I'll take 15+! I'm working on a greenhouse and can also take any extras off your hands so your not stuck.
Just make sure to drop me a line if you do it, otherwise I'll have to try and track a large quantity down here and its a pita I know!

Situation is in the planning stage still, sorry for the delay, but things look good so far. I'll definately keep everyone updated. If this does happen it will be worth the wait.

I'm in for 5 bags. I have 2 I dragged down from Mass with me, but i still like ot have it around.

Let me know when its in!

Luis
