SouthDown Natural Play Sand

Hey

is it me, or did some post a picture of the sand they brought? I can't see it. Can someone please post a picture of the bag it's self, so I know what I am getting.

Edwin

I posted a picture, but I had to delete it. I can send you the pic if I can find it tonight. This is what you are looking for at Lowes "patio paver base, its in a brown bag . bag says"Step 1"

I guess it's the lighting too, I did washed it very good a lot dirt came off (brown, tan stuff) it looks really white once is in

how do you rinse this sand properly? I mean what is your technique? I've never rinsed any before, and I can't think of an easy way to do it without losing a lot.

Thanks, and Lowes in Rockledge has a pallet of the stuff available.

Rob

I put some in my frag tank, rinsed it real good in a 5 gal bucket. There was a lot of silt that came out. The sand appears tan in the bucket still but is slightly off white when in the tank. A large diversity of sizes, from small almost dust like to about 1/4". Very happy so far.

Thanks for the info about the sand. Never would have heard about if it was not for this thread. Lowes in Winter Haven had several pallets of it a couple week ago.

I did a little at a time in a 5 gallon bucket, like half a bag or less at a time until runs kind of clear not brown but white. I just used the hose

I have sand from the intercoastal in my tank. It was free right off of 528 on the way to Cocoa. All you need is a bucket and a shovel. Looks pretty good too.

Very risky... sand or water from near any shore can be full of pollutants..and I would'nt get caught doing that.:eek1:
