Spawning Frenzy in my tank !!!

I wondered what would happen if i stopped to feed my maxi mini amenones for 3 months and than i started again to feed generously, twice a week.

The result ... The males(Two confirmed males) rejected their semence during the night.

I'm crossing my fingers that females contain eggs and were fertilized (They should reject the eggs later.).

I noticed the event when it was almost completed.

In short ... Love is in the air

The water was very cloudy.

Very nice set of maxi you got there. I've witnessed several spawns in my 5.5 gallon maxi tank, with both male and females releasing at about the same time. So far nothing's come of it, and the only filtration and flow comes from a modified AC70 fuge.

I know someone here in Montréal who did it.

The babies reached the size of an quarter.

But the babies was bleached and remained bleached until they died.

Another spawing frenzy less than 15 minutes after the lights are closed.

I have not seen the action directly. I clearly saw who is the alpha male

I'm really surprised how fast it is. I was in the same room and I have not had the chance make a video.

Fascinating. I have a growing maxi-mini "garden" in a 14G that will be transferred to a 50 as soon as it's filled and cycled. I wonder if I might see the same thing eventually.
