Spawning or pods?

Turned the pumps and everything off tonight to rescue the jawfish from the over flow. Then notice a big streem of white dots flowing upward from the sand and collecting on the surface. I tried to get a picture but its hard to see. Best way I can describe it is they looked like sperm. Small white balls with a tail. Anyone know what it was? uploadfromtaptalk1401238168805.jpg

Those are from left handed zebras, bit bigger than blue/red legs. I think it is difficult for them to survive to adulthood in aquaria but I sure would think it was neat! I don't think any have survived unless I have so far missed them. I have had them spawn at least 3 times. I have columbellid snails breeding too so there are probably tiny shells in there along with some in my live sand. Have not seen a baby yet though. They do make excellent fish food at least :)

Hard to tell from your pic. Could be pods, or the planktonic larval stage of most anything in your tank (including hermits). If it is the latter, they're usually short-lived in captivity- many fish and corals will see to that. :D

Thanks for the discussion. I've had the same thing going on for weeks in my tank and had no idea what it was. I figured that it was something good.
