Splashless Bleach

Well, I would certainly recommend doing it outside. I would hope he's not going to try it in a closet or something!!

The problem is you would have no way of knowing if the rock was ok even after you did it.

Well not until I threw it in with some livestock and coral...which Im not too keen on that idea

Could you try a muriatic acid bath or something to remove any layer of rock that has been contaminated by the bleach?

DO NOT EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES MIX ACID AND BLEACH!!!!

YOU COULD END UP DEAD. NO KIDDING.

It will generate chlorine gas.

Good to know. Granted I wasnt going to try it.

I didn't figure, but after it was mentioned I thought I should say something before someone did try. That's one of the biggest of all the household chemical no-no's.

I know bleach and ammonia dont mix...but then again I dont think Im gonna go mixing bleach with anything lol. Especially after being an avid watcher of 1000 ways to die lol

So where is Randy? Ive been kinda wanting to hear his input on this

I actually mixed bleach with ammonia once. Granted I was 7 or 8 years old and trying to clean up a juice stain. That stuff started sizzling and smoking (well vapors I suppose but it looked like smoke to me at the time). Even at that age I knew something bad was happening.

A very good reason to keep the household cleaning chemicals out of the reach of children.

Oh boy....homemade chemistry kits are bad...mmmkay???

Hmmmm... That 'splains it!

I set up a quarantine tank a few weeks ago. In the AC50 I placed Purigen and Chemipure Elite. I bought a Royal Gramma and put him in there and he was dead in 2 days. Reading this thread, it occurred to me why this happend. I recharged the Purigen that I used with splashless bleach. AAARRRRRGGGGG. Now I'm going to have to really wash out that tank and filter.
