splendid dottyback in qt w/scotts wrasse and blenny?

hobbzz

How do I change this?
I've got a scotts fairy wrasse and black combtooth blenny in a 40b qt tank with about 25-30g of water in it. Lfs has a nice splendid dottyback I'd like to pick up, but I only have the one qt tank. Should they be fine for 3-4 weeks, or should I make a partition or wait and qt a splendid by itself?

Thanks in advance.

My Splended Dottyback thinks he is the last fish I should ever add to my tank ever again and will beat up any other fish I try to add. So maybe the splended dottyback being the last fish to add is a good idea.

I've tried various dottybacks over the years in several different size tanks, and always regret it. They always stake out a rock, and viciously defend it. I would rather have a damsel. To illustrate my point, I recently passed on a pair of Sunrise for only $30.

Thanks for the advice guys. QT tank is a 40 breeder and display is a 300g.

Mainly wondering about aggression in the qt tank though. I've wanted a splendid for about 10 years but never had a tank large enough that I wanted to try one in until now.

I have both a male scotts fairy and a splendid dottyback in a 120 together, neither bothers any of the other fish too badly. Depending on the size of the splendid dottyback, I would just throw a few pieces of pvc in there and he will have a place of refuge from the scotts if there is any aggression.
