splitting bta

I was just curious? Is there a certain look a bta gets before it splits? Is there something I can watch for? What are the signs if any?

I had one to split last week and one splitting now. Both kinda moved down into the crevice and looks wilted a day before they split. The first one took 2 days to complete, and this one started today and is about done.They both were about 7 to8'' across before the split. Hope this may help you out.

kind of ...thanks....So you really dont know if they are going to split because there are other reasons they deflate and hide in the crevices also. Thats what mine has been doing today. hiding and deflating.

Look at the foot to see if it is streching or is extended.They pull themselves apart.

mine tends to put his foot on two different rocks. he also gets a figure-8 or pinched shape in the middle (which is where he splits).

mine are all very quickly, and we can see the behavior the day before but thats about it.
