SPN how did the tank move go??

Carol, (Thepircs), is a cross country driving machine!! Carol, my son and I left Vestal with a 6 x 12 U-Haul trailer in tow @4:00am Saturday morning to drive down to Pittsburgh. Pat (buck50mg),the seller, had everything in barrels broken down and ready to go. We loaded with the assistance of Pat and his father and were on our way back. We arrived back in town around 7:00pm, where Dave, (thepircs), and Vince(fatrip) were on the scene ready to get to work. We lost the Naso, and the harlequin tusk was looking a little rough when we got him transferred. The rest are currently overwhelming thepircs tanks. We were working until 4:00 this morning.
There are some magnificent specimens, that I may need to find new homes for, as IMO some of them are too big for a 210. Even though the tank set-up is not completed yet, I already I cannot begin to thank Carol, Dave and Vince enough for their time, help, guidance and expertise that this newbie finds invaluable! I owe them big time!

Pix!!!!!

Sounds like quite the gruelling ordeal. A 24hr cannonball run? I love it. An people think we're crazy. PHHHHBBBT!

i took a few pics this am...someone needs to clean the tank...but the pics still came out well ;)
the HT is still breathing...hopefully he will be good, when we moved him to a different tank, he was swimming to get out of the net. i will bring the camera later so we can take some pics of the mangroves and tank/stand.

The pics don't even give you a real idea of how big these guys are. The tang in the first picture is at least 14 inches long. The trigger and the speckled tang are between 8-10 inches. Talk about putting a stress on the bioload......

Dave

Looks like real reefer madness. Sounds like you guys had a heck of a time. Great job; You got it done. Those fish look big enough to eat. You can open a fish market:)

Sorry to tell you guys....We got back from Steve's and the Harlequin Tusk didn't make it. To be truthful, I was surprised he made it through the night. All of the other fish are doing great, they are going to cost a fortune to feed them. I sure hope that Steve can use them as IRS dependant deductions.......

Dave

Nice work guys (and girls)...sounds like a nice score!

Steve,
Have you decided if you are going to keep everything? What kind of skimmer did the system come with??

Did you get a whole set up? Lights, powerheads, etc...

Frank,
I will not be able to tell you if I am keeping everything until it is all hooked up and running smoothly for a while. While I am contemplating posting some of the larger livestock for sale, the only thing that I am certain of, is that I need to find a new home for the Vlamingi in a much larger tank.

yeah, I spoke to Dave...he said it is quite a specimen. Maybe Kent with his 1000 gallons of real estate can take it :)

Again...sounds like you made quite a score, congrats!

we found a fish we found a fish....ewwwww and it was the worst smelling thing i have every touched....there was some sort of wrasse in the over flow with about 3 inch of water that had been fermenting in there since last sat....i almost puked...

LOL!!!!!

What did this guy (the seller) forget he had another fish?

Probably on of those...oh I had this really cool Wrasse, but it must have jumped or something because I haven't seen him in months...heh heh

Stop being a baby Vince, you change poopy diapers and stuff!! How bad could it have been?!?!?!

it was worse than any of haileys diapers. it was worse becasue not only did i have to smell it initailly, after i got it out i have to clean the sand out of the bottom to seat the bulk head.

i wanted that fish! LOL...not really, but we had talked about the kole tang...so sad
carol
btw, no wonder t said it smelled in the house ;)
