Sponge Bath?

For time to time I notice these (believed to be) little sponges in my overflow section. The amount of these little guys fluctuates. I haven't been paying as much attention to them lately, then notice some white sponge on one of my rocks in my DT. Looks the same as the white stuff in the middle of the first pic. Then I looked in the overflow and saw that I have more than usual. Do I worry about this stuff in my DT? Just let it run its course? I don't have a pic of the rock, but can snap one tonight when my MH goes on.

Thx,

Matt

Imo I wouldnt worry about them. They actually help filter the water, spores released by the sponge can also be a food source .possibly for the zoas.

I was growing a blue sponge that seamed to get something from a colony of gsp, when I removed the gsp the sponge died back ,returned it to where it was and it started to grow towards the gsp again.

Theres exceptions as always so probably best to just keep an eye on it.The ones in your first pic I have too in various spots but I never noticed anything negative from them.
