Sponges a Possibility?

I want to know if I will be able to house a ball sponge in my aquarium:

20 gallons, 250gph canister filter, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 20ppm nitrate, 300ppm KH.

I have a 50/50 65W Power Compact with a colony of button polyps and some mushroom polyps. I also have one blue devil damsel.

I understand sponges are difficult to keep in that they die a slow starving death. I do not think my flow is quite enough and will buy a powerhead if I need to.

you could, they need lots of flow and live phytoplankton.

I've always had sponges in my tank since they were on the LR I bought from a local. Some are even shaped like a ball. I don't do anything specifically to feed them. They've even been exposed to air on more than a few occasions and they've been in the tank for over a year and a half.
