Are they bad, also I have a starfish I discoverd today. 6 legs,3 are missing, I`ve never seen it untill today. I`ts realy flexable and is scaling glass. If it`s bad for the tank plese tell me how to get rid of it.

sounds like an asterina. Some are good, some bad. Some are harmless detritivores, some harmless algae eaters, and some eat corals :) Its impossible to ID them one way or another. Some people will pull them out first sight. I keep mine in and haven't seen any trouble *yet*

Lots of things can pop up in a reef tank. Most are harmless, some are trouble. Going to need a decent picture for anyone to really tell which is which ;)

i pull mine right away and stick them in the sump...good or bad they can do what they have to in the sump..if they die they feed someone else down there..its a win win for my and my sump..

they are very easy to pick off with your fingers...unless you dont like reaching in your tank then i am sure they are just as easy with long pinchers...

these aren't spontaneous either...you must have added new rock or new coral...and as you will notice, you only need one leg to spring a new star fish...they are prolific growers...
